Briton Ferry Road, Neath Port Talbot

Welcome to our virtual public consultation

This Pre-Application Consultation relates to the intention of Lidl Great Britain Limited to submit to the local planning authority (Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council) a full planning application for demolition of existing buildings and replacement with a Class A1 foodstore with associated carparking, landscaping, engineering and drainage works.

The Proposed Development will consist of the demolition of the existing Lidl store and adjacent Poundstretcher and gym unit and the erection of a new Lidl food store. The proposal will result in a larger and more modern Lidl store albeit, due to the demolition of the adjacent unit, a reduction in floorspace overall on the site and a reduction in retail sales space.

The new store will be served by 151 car parking spaces, including 9 disabled spaces, 11 parent and child spaces and 2 electric vehicle charging spaces. Vehicular access will be as per the existing Lidl store, with the existing access to the adjacent units being stopped up.
