We are delighted to hear that Leven Road Gasworks, Poplar, London by St William which our team were planning consultants for has won the award for Planning Permission of the Year. In addition we would like to congratulate Quintain Ltd for being Highly Commended in two categories, the award for Infrastructure Planning and in the award for Planning for Increased Housing Delivery.
The Leven Road Gasworks site is a 8.5 hectare site and the team helped obtain a hybrid permission for up to 2,800 new homes, 200,000 GEA sqm commercial and community uses, a 1 hectare park, secondary school and riverside walkways.
Both of the commendations received by Quintain Ltd related to Energy Planning for Wembley Park and the team are proud to have been the planning consultants on this redevelopment scheme since 2002. Wembley Park is the UK's largest Build to Rent development and will also deliver an average of 30% affordable homes for local people. As part of the awards review, it is noted that the Wembley Park masterplan responds not only to Wembley's location as a growth area but delivers a comprehensive scheme that has had to be sensitive to the constraints of an urban environment including protecting views of Wembley Stadium's arch. The use of the underground Envac waste system and the connections to the site wide energy centre will ensure that Wembley Park is a cleaner and greener place to live and showcase Quintain's commitment to achieving a sustainable future for its residents.
