CarneySweeney are retained by The British Land Company plc to advise on planning strategy and obtain planning permissions for the conversion and remodelling of the upper floors of a former department store to office use.  While no change of use is required, external alterations were necessary to affect the conversion and a car park management plan secured by planning condition attached to the original outline permission for the development required amendment.  Understanding the prospective tenant's requirements in terms of car parking and addressing the resultant policy challenges in order to present a coherent and convincing planning argument has been key to presentation of a strong case.
