Proposals

WainHomes are proposing to build high quality new homes on land to the west of the B3181, Willand, Devon. The development would be for up to 119 private homes, including 8 or 9 plots to be made available for self build, and 51 affordable homes for local people and families with a mix of 1 – 4 bedrooms.

The application will be for outline planning permission with access being the only detail to be considered. This means the detailed layout and design of the new homes is not established yet, but we have designed an indicative site layout that shows how the site could accommodate the proposed new homes. This can be viewed by clicking on the link at the top right of this page.

The development would also provide new formal play areas, informal open space, sustainable drainage features, and landscaping buffers to protect and retain trees and hedgerows.

A range of technical reports dealing with potential impacts in terms of highways, drainage, trees, ecology, noise, air quality, heritage, landscape, and carbon reduction would be submitted in connection with the application.

Timetable

The planning application will be submitted to Mid Devon District Council in the Autumn, and you can help to shape our emerging plans by providing us with your feedback. All comments will be taken into consideration as our planning application is finalised.

You are invited to provide your feedback to the proposed development to us by 10 October 2023.
