CarneySweeney secured planning permission for a redeveloped Lidl store at Great North Road.  The existing store was one of Lidl's 'first generation' stores.  Modern day operational and customer requirements, and the store's increasing popularity necessitated redevelopment of the site to deliver the latest generation store and improve customer experience. The adjacent semi-derelict buildings on Great North Road will make way the new, modern style store, enlarged car park and comprehensive landscaping scheme. New hedgerow and tree planting is proposed, with land to the rear of the store managed for nature conservation purposes.  Bird and bat boxes also enhance on-site biodiversity.
