Peter Waldren is leading the planning input into this central urban regeneration scheme within a multi-disciplinary team. The proposal is for mixed use development including residential, hotel, office, student accommodation, retail, services, community space and leisure uses set around a retained church and a vibrant public plaza. Challenges include the previously developed nature of the site, heritage assets on and off the site and the need for a flexible consent which can adapt to an ever changing market. Significant effort was spent in pre-application discussions and consultation to ensure issues were fully discussed and the benefits of the scheme fully understood prior to submission.
